Wally Farms Featured in Hudson Valley Magazine

“As soon as we became stewards of Wally Farms, we knew we had a responsibility to preserve the land and do something important for our community and the world. It was exactly at that time that we understood how critical climate work was—and we quickly realized how Wally Farms could be a hub for experimenting with climate solutions,” says Danziger

April has brought with it tremendous momentum in the Wally World. Our farmers have hit the ground seeding, plotting, prepping beds, and putting in the time it takes to start their farm businesses. Wally Farms initiatives have found footing and our staff is prepared to implement and experiment. With this, our founders have been given the amazing opportunity to share with the Hudson Valley Magazine platform all that Wally Farms, and sister organizations The Spark of Hudson, and HudsonUP are up to.

“We’re in this fortunate position where we can use our funds on a philanthropic level, but also just as important, we’re able to invest in local entrepreneurs and help them launch businesses that will ideally benefit the community,”Susan Danziger.

Hudson Valley Magazine has highlighted the work of founder Susan Danziger with the Wally Farms project and the local initiatives that she has established in the Hudson community. The Hudson based initiatives include HudsonUP, a Universal Based Income Pilot Program giving 75 local recipients an unconditional $500 a month for five years; The Spark of Hudson, a foundation for learning and community development that aims to amplify and create new opportunities for community growth and equity with an emphasis on partnerships and collaborations.

“What’s driven the work at Wally Farms is this idea that we don’t have the answers, but we are trying to figure out what are potential models that can ideally be used by others.”

As we run full steam ahead into the Spring and Summer season here at Wally Farms, we are energized by the partnerships and community engagements that are to come. In our mission, Wally Farms aims to be active in uplifting existing members and initiatives in the community with the help of “people power”, open access to education and tools, and collaboration.
